Play Works Children’s Therapies is a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy clinic nestled in the beautiful Pacific Northwest town of Hood River, Oregon, where we make it our mission to service the greater Columbia River Gorge region.

At Play Works, we believe in providing play-focused, evidence-based pediatric therapy services to help children and their families live more fulfilling lives.

Our multidisciplinary team provides wrap-around services that consist of; Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Feeding Therapy, Nutrition Services, and Applied Behavioral Analysis to children ages 0-18 years.

Responsibilities

The Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist will provide diagnostic, remediation, and management services for individuals referred to the department with disorders of speech, language, voice, fluency, hearing, language-based cognitive, and/or swallowing.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of medical and neurological terminology and behavioral management techniques.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in the ability to evaluate and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs
  • A knowledge of normal growth and development
  • An understanding of the range of treatment needed.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Able to stand, walk, and sit frequently. Possesses adequate reaction time to respond quickly to unexpected patient care situations. Must be able to see, hear and speak with or without assistive devices. Must be able to lift 25 pounds to assist in basic patient care and/or to assist with office supplies, utilizing proper body mechanics. Requires ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Oregon License in Speech-Language Pathology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 year of pediatric SLP experience (strong CF considered)
  • Current Oregon License in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience working with children with suspected or diagnosed ASD
  • Experience in treating pediatric feeding disorders, or desire to learn a plus!

PAY

$72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
