Allie earned her masters in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Montana in May of 2022. Her undergraduate degree was earned at Montana State University in Land Rehabilitation in 2015. Prior to her graduate degree pursuit, she explored jobs in social work, psychology, and education. This exploration landed her into the field of speech language pathology. During her post-bac and graduate school studies she worked in a literacy and language research lab investigating the connection between morphological awareness and developmental language disorder and dyslexia. She has a passion for teaching literacy skills to children and fostering a love of books. She believes in an individualized, child-led, and play-based approach to therapy. Getting to know each child and their family is crucial for success in therapy. These values align with Play Works’ mission and vision which is why she is so excited to be part of the Play Works team. Her clinical interests include pediatric dysphagia and feeding, augmented and alternative communication, and early intervention. She has experience with bilingual early intervention in English and Spanish, which quickly became her favorite intervention to conduct.
Allie is from Missoula, Montana where she grew up playing in the outdoors. Her main passions are ice hockey and mountain biking but loves to learn new sports and hobbies. She is excited to explore all Hood River has to offer, and maybe pick up some river sports!
