Sarah McDonnell is the founder and Director of Play Works Children's Therapies. She received her M.A. in Communication Disorders and Sciences from SUNY Buffalo in 2006, and since that time has dedicated over 14 years developing her clinical skills as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. Sarah has a special interest in treating children with childhood apraxia of speech, severe speech sound disorders, and pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. Among her professional experiences are inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, early intervention, and pediatric multidisciplinary clinics. She is a graduate of the 2011 Apraxia Kids Intensive Training Institute and has been recognized as having advanced training and clinical expertise in diagnosis and treatment of CAS.
Sarah brings to Play Works her Therapy Intensive Programming which utilizes an evidence-based practice in the context of play. She has been an invited speaker for regional and national conferences, as well as a university guest lecturer. Sarah also provides peer review for continuing education courses related to pediatric motor speech disorders. Her passion for play and social connection is made evident by her approach to treatment. When Sarah isn’t found playing at work, you can find her enjoying her three children and all of the adventures the PNW has to offer!
