Erika Ellis is a Tennessee born and raised occupational therapist, who brings her knowledge and southern warmth to spread across The Gorge! She earned her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and her B.S. in Biology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She has worked with children for more than 10 years across a spectrum of interests, both professionally and personally. These dynamic experiences range from being the swim team coach, classroom educator, hospital-based acute care interventionist, and aunt to a little guy with special needs. The vast spectrum of these adventures has equipped her to provide child-centered care for kids to live their best life as physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially successful individuals. Her primary experience is in neurological rehabilitation, but is passionate about holistic treatment and how play really does work!
Although Erika may play for work, she also loves to play for fun! Throughout the week, you will find her on long walks throughout town, reading a book on the waterfront, or hiding by the local rivers and secret camping spots. As she begins her personal adventure in The Gorge, she aims to share her experience and dedication with the children who make The Gorge the magical place that it is.
