Jaclyn Kerr

COTA/L

Jaclyn Kerr has always had a passion for working with children. She had a rough and tumble childhood filled with outdoor adventures, dress-up, and science experiments, which helped her recognize the joy she finds in helping children discover their independence through play. While earning her Bachelor’s and completing her schooling to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant, she worked as a special education preschool aide, which helped her develop a strong foundation in pediatrics. She had the privilege to complete her fieldwork at a pediatric facility that exposed her to hippotherapy (therapy with horses), helping her learn the value of utilising animals to enrich a treatment session. She got her start at a multi-disciplinary autism clinic in Palm Desert, CA, which provided her the opportunity to develop a collaborative treatment style that focuses on each discipline working together to create stronger outcomes. In addition, she learned great techniques for helping children with autism succeed. She is excited to work at a clinic that also recognizes the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach, and encourages skill development through play. She loves the whimsy and ingenuity that goes along with being a pediatric COTA, and cannot wait to bring her passion to each treatment session.

Jaclyn recently moved to Oregon to be close to family, and chose the Gorge for the beautiful scenery and the vast number of outdoor activities to choose from. She loves the water and can’t wait to learn how to wind surf. In her free time she enjoys reading, baking, and cuddling on the couch watching movies with her 2 chihuahuas, Mavis and Astrid (yes, their names are inspired by Hotel Transylvania and How to Train your Dragon).
