Sungjin Kim

PT, DPT, Physical Therapist

Sungjin Kim earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Columbia University and her Masters in Biomedical Science from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She started off her career by working with diverse populations such as the following: Pediatrics and Geriatrics, via an interdisciplinary team approach in outpatient and in-patient settings. She particularly loves working and caring for children who have diagnoses that affect their motor and developmental ability.

Through helping others in need, she has experienced the most satisfying moments in her life. During her volunteering in an educational outreach program for North Korean refugee children, she truly enjoyed listening to children’s stories, helping them to dream and achieve their life goals, rather than just surviving.

Her areas of interest include working with pediatric populations with neurological complications such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and cerebellar ataxia. She is growing in her enthusiasm for finding effective interventions for neuromuscular pathology in order to improve functional mobility, especially in younger age groups. She enjoys expanding her knowledge in neuroscience and orthopedics so she can also pursue future research regarding neurological conditions.
