Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ines is a native Spanish speaker and brings valuable bilingual skills to the clinic. Since beginning her work with children with disabilities in 2012, she's worked in special education teaching literacy skills to bilingual students and in an ABA clinic working directly with Spanish speaking families. After obtaining her Speech Language Pathology Assistant certification she worked in school, clinic, and telehealth settings providing speech therapy to monolingual and bilingual students.
As an individual with visible disability, Ines's experiences as a patient receiving therapeutic services give her a strong understanding and foundation in the field. Her main aspiration has been to work with individuals with disabilities throughout their lifespan by building their skills, celebrating small gains and developing strategies for her patients to live a fulfilling life.
Along with her real-world experience, Ines has received a Master's in Special Education from Portland State University, a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Portland State University, and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Walsh University. She's also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and an Advisory Committee Board Member for the OSU Extension Outdoor School Program.
In her free time she enjoys kayaking, hiking, cooking, exploring the PNW outdoors as well as trying new restaurants.
